4 Cats of
Charleston Els Quatre Gats (The Four Cats) derives its name from the legendary 1897
Barcelona
restaurant and pub. It was a meeting place for young artists
of the day including
Picasso in his early years. The artists hung many
of their works on the restaurant walls.
The "Four Cats" is Catalan slang
for "just a few people".
In 2006, a few
local artists in Charleston, SC opened Els Quatre Gats of Charleston, a gallery
of original art. The 4 Cats artists regularly produce original artwork on
